4 drug dealers, including a woman, arrested in Tupi

Four drug dealers were arrested during a police entrapment operation in Tupi, South Cotabato on Tuesday, April 1.

The suspects, including a 34-year-old woman, had been under surveillance for selling illegal substances like shabu and marijuana in pineapple plantation areas.

Major Rovi Jardenil, the municipal police chief of Tupi, confirmed that all four suspects are now detained and charged with violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Residents of barangays around vast pineapple plantations in South Cotabato's adjoining Tupi and Polomolok towns reported that the drug dealers had eluded earlier attempts by local officials to intercept them while distributing drugs.

During a tradeoff on Tuesday night, the suspects were arrested after selling P81,600 worth of shabu to undercover policemen disguised as villagers in a secluded area.
