Philippines Reports 14,610 New COVID-19 Cases and 10,674 Recoveries on August 16

The Philippines reported 14,610 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, August 16, bringing the total active cases to 106,672, the highest since April 22.

Of these active cases, 96.1% are mild, with 0.9% asymptomatic and 1.3% severe.

The recovery tally increased by 10,674 new recoveries to reach 1,618,808 patients, representing a 92.2% recovery rate from the total of 1,755,846 infections since the pandemic began.

Additionally, 27 new deaths were recorded, raising the death toll to 30,340 or 1.74% of all cases.
