Palace concerned over rising number of suspected nCoV cases in PH

The Philippine government has expressed concern over the rising number of suspected nCoV cases in the country, with 27 persons under investigation as of Tuesday.

Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said that President Rodrigo Duterte has instructed Health Secretary Francisco Duque III to study and evaluate measures to prevent the entry of the virus in the country.

The Department of Health (DOH) has assured the public that it has measures in place to handle potential cases, including isolation rooms and supportive care for patients.

As of Wednesday, 23 persons are under investigation for possible nCoV infection, with most being Chinese nationals.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said that there is no treatment or vaccine available for the virus, but patients will receive proper nutrition, hydration, and pain management if infected.
