Taguig opens 5 temporary health facilities for COVID-19 response

The City Government of Taguig has established five temporary health facilities for Persons Under Investigation (PUIs), Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs), and COVID-19 positive patients, as well as for frontline workers.

Mayor Lino Cayetano stated these dedicated wards aim to better manage cases, minimize virus exposure, and offer special accommodations for frontline workers.

The PWD Center will house COVID-19 positive patients with mild or no symptoms, and will also accommodate city government staff caring for admitted cases.

Other repurposed facilities include a new building in Katwiran, Ibayo Tipas for PUIs and close contacts; Taguig Lakeshore with modular tents for PUMs; TUP Taguig campus building with a tent hospital extension for confirmed cases; and the Hagonoy Sports Complex for frontline workers.

All facilities will provide essential amenities including meals, hygiene kits, internet, and are air-conditioned and staffed by medical professionals 24/7.

The Taguig-Pateros District Hospital will continue admitting COVID-19 related cases and PUIs, while coordinating with referral hospitals for severe cases.

These measures are a preemptive step to prepare for a potential surge in cases and to provide adequate care.
