Davao City PUI tests negative for COVID-19
Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) Chief Dr. Leopoldo Vega confirmed that two individuals who were previously under investigation for COVID-19 have tested negative.
The test swabs from the two PUIs were sent to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) last Saturday.
Davao City and the entire Davao Region remain free from confirmed COVID-19 cases.
The Department of Health (DOH)-Davao has previously cleared a total of 24 PUIs.
SPMC's isolation facility has a capacity of 10 patients and is equipped with a depressurize containment facility.
The DOH had raised its alert system to Code Red on Saturday in preparation for a possible increase in suspected and confirmed cases, following the confirmation of two new cases with one having no known travel history abroad.
