Ilocos Norte’s first PUI tests negative for Covid-19
Ilocos Norte has recorded its first patient under investigation (PUI) for COVID-19, a 35-year-old man with a travel history to Hong Kong.
The PUI, who arrived in the Philippines on February 23, presented with cough and colds on March 4 and was admitted to an isolation room.
His specimen was sent to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) for testing.
The RITM has confirmed that the PUI has tested negative for COVID-19.
This result means Ilocos Norte remains free of COVID-19.
The province had previously logged 13 PUIs who all tested negative for the virus.
