Southwest Monsoon brings rain to PH

The Southwest Monsoon, locally known as Habagat, is currently the dominant weather system affecting the Philippines, bringing cloudy skies and scattered rain showers across various regions.

Mindanao, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Palawan, and Occidental Mindoro can expect scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the monsoon.

Metro Manila and nearby areas like the rest of MIMAROPA, Batangas, Cavite, and Laguna will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

The remaining parts of the country will also have a chance of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms from localized weather systems.

PAGASA warns of potential flash floods and landslides in areas experiencing moderate to heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.

Coastal waters in the western sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao may experience moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas.

Other areas of the Philippines will have lighter winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.
