LPA, Habagat bring rains nationwide

A Low Pressure Area (LPA) and the southwest monsoon (Habagat) are bringing widespread rains and thunderstorms across most of the Philippines.

The LPA was last seen near Catbalogan City, Samar.

It has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone but is causing moderate to heavy rain.

Mimaropa, Batangas, Aklan, and Antique may experience heavy to intense rains of 100-200 mm.

Moderate to heavy rains are also expected over Metro Manila, Bataan, the rest of Calabarzon, Masbate, the rest of Western Visayas, Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Zamboanga Peninsula, Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Norte, and Lanao del Sur.

Residents in affected areas are advised to stay on alert for potential flash floods or landslides, especially those prone to hazards or areas that have already experienced significant rainfall.
