Habagat brings rains to Visayas, Mindanao, Southern Luzon

The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) is affecting the western sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, bringing clouds and scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

A tropical depression spotted 1,100 km west of Central Luzon, outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, is enhancing the Habagat which is expected to continue bringing rains until Tuesday.

Mindanao, Western Visayas, Palawan, and Occidental Mindoro will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

Moderate to heavy rains in these areas may possibly lead to flash floods or landslides.

Metro Manila, the rest of MIMAROPA, Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, and Bataan may expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Localized thunderstorms are anticipated across the rest of the country, with the potential for flash floods or landslides during severe conditions.

The Southwest Monsoon will bring moderate to heavy rains (50-100 mm) over Antique, Iloilo, Palawan, and Occidental Mindoro until Monday evening.
