SMC deploys 100+ health pros to Metro Manila vax sites

San Miguel Corporation (SMC) has deployed over 100 healthcare professionals to assist in government-led COVID-19 vaccination sites across Metro Manila, administering more than 55,000 vaccine shots.

Initially starting with 19 medical personnel, SMC has expanded its deployment to 11 vaccination sites in Mandaluyong, Malabon, and Quezon City.

The company plans to hire 300 medical professionals to support both the government's vaccination program and its own free vaccination initiative for employees.

SMC President Ramon S. Ang highlighted the shortage of medical personnel as a key challenge in the government's vaccination rollout and expressed gratitude to the deployed healthcare workers for their service.

SMC will soon deploy medical professionals to the City of Manila, with an initial team of 10 doctors and nurses.

SMC is committed to providing free COVID-19 vaccinations to its approximately 70,000 employees, their families, and referred individuals, allocating nearly PHP1 billion for this program.

The company believes that accelerating the vaccination rollout is crucial for economic recovery and aims to address vaccine hesitancy among the public.
