Shear line, LPA affect 1.2 million Filipinos

Over 1.2 million individuals from 300,545 families across five regions have been affected by the shear line and a low pressure area (LPA).

As of Sunday evening, 18,343 families or 76,138 individuals are housed in 155 evacuation centers, with an additional 7,833 families seeking shelter with relatives and friends.

Fifty-eight houses were destroyed, and 251 homes sustained partial damage across 1,550 affected barangays in Bicol, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, and Northern Mindanao.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has provided humanitarian aid worth over P93 million to the affected persons.

The previous report indicated damage to 270 houses and agricultural losses of over P119.8 million.
