Shear line weakens, but rains still expected in parts of PH

The effect of the shear line, a product of colliding cold and warm winds, has weakened but rains are still expected in several parts of the Philippines due to prevailing weather systems.

Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Negros Island Region, Caraga, Sorsogon, Masbate, Capiz, Iloilo, Davao Oriental, and Davao de Oro may experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms brought by the easterlies.

Residents in these affected areas are advised to remain vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides, especially during moderate to heavy rainfall.

The northeast monsoon, or 'amihan', will cause cloudy skies and light rains in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the 'amihan' may also affect Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon, Ilocos Region, and the rest of Central Luzon.

The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
