Shear line, amihan to bring rains over N. Luzon

Cloudy skies with light rains will prevail over Batanes and Cagayan due to the shear line and the northeast monsoon.

The shear line, also known as the Tail-end of Frontal System, is influencing the eastern section of Northern Luzon.

The Ilocos Region and Cordillera Administrative Region will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon can expect isolated rains and localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA weather forecaster Grace Castañeda warned the public to be alert for possible flooding, especially during severe thunderstorms.

The Visayas and Mindanao will also have localized thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over northern Luzon, with a gale warning in effect over the seaboards of Batanes, Ilocos Norte, and Cagayan, including the Babuyan Islands.

Fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture out into the sea, while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves.
