San Jose del Monte City enforces quarantine after 2 COVID-19 cases confirmed

The City of San Jose del Monte in Bulacan has implemented a city-wide quarantine starting Monday, March 16, 2020, due to the confirmation of two COVID-19 cases.

Checkpoints have been set up in five key areas within the city to enforce the quarantine measures.

Employees working in the National Capital Region and other cities are permitted to enter and exit the city upon presentation of their company ID.

The local government is encouraging flexible work arrangements in the private sector.

The quarantine also entails the suspension of all classes in public and private schools and a ban on mass gatherings.

Mayor Arthur Robes confirmed that a male resident tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently hospitalized in Metro Manila.

The city's first COVID-19 case is a 58-year-old woman also confined in an undisclosed hospital in the National Capital Region.
