QC COVID-19 cases climb to 40, two deaths confirmed

Quezon City has recorded 40 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with Mayor Joy Belmonte reporting an increase.

Of the newly reported cases, three were doctors; one of whom died before his test results came back positive.

One doctor from Barangay Damayang Lagi has infected his wife and child.

The city has confirmed two deaths from the virus.

The latest fatality was a male who traveled to Singapore from Barangay del Monte, while the first fatality was a shop owner in Greenhills from Barangay Matandang Balara.

Belmonte stated that five patients have recovered and been discharged from the hospital.

Quezon City currently has 16 persons under investigation and 54 persons under monitoring for the virus.

Authorities have barricaded some streets in the city, including E. Rodriguez from Trinity College to Broadway, and disinfected some areas.
