San Juan City reports 9 COVID-19 cases

San Juan City has nine confirmed COVID-19 patients, all currently admitted to hospitals and in stable condition.

The national count of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines reached 52 as of Friday, with President Rodrigo Duterte placing Metro Manila under community quarantine.

The city's ninth and newest case is a 70-year-old female resident of Barangay West Crame, currently undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Manila.

Previously, eight cases in San Juan were linked to a prayer hall in Greenhills or travel history to Bali, Indonesia.

The DOH announced the death of Patient No. 5, a 62-year-old Filipino male who visited a prayer hall in San Juan, and his wife, Patient No. 6, also died from complications due to COVID-19.

The woman, Patient No. 8, who tested positive, was escorted by the City Health Office and PNP personnel to a hospital of her choice after her preferred facility could not accommodate her, and is now in stable condition.
