Akbayan Rep Cendana slams VP Duterte's 'God save the Philippines' plea

Akbayan Party-list Rep. Percival Cendaña stated that Vice President Sara Duterte's plea of "God save the Philippines" is ironic, suggesting the country needs saving from her and her family's alleged corruption, incompetence, and impunity.

Cendaña criticized Duterte for failing to protect public funds, safeguard education from corruption, and defend Filipino fisherfolk and frontliners against Chinese harassment in the West Philippine Sea.

He specifically mentioned her failure to save the Department of Education from corruption and the confidential and intelligence funds from anomalies.

Duterte made her plea during a press briefing on Friday, her reaction to the House of Representatives impeaching her on multiple grounds, which included betrayal of public trust, abuse of power, death threats, alleged misuse of public funds, involvement in the Davao Death Squad, and inciting sedition.
