PNP to release hazard pay for cops on Covid-19 duty
The Philippine National Police (PNP) will disburse hazard pay to qualified frontline police officers starting April 17, 2020.
Each police officer will receive a uniform rate of P500 per day, with the computation beginning March 17.
This hazard pay is intended for those physically present during the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) implementation.
PNP chief Gen. Archie Gamboa stated that this financial assistance aims to boost the morale and financial flexibility of the police force.
In addition to hazard pay, members of the Public Safety Mutual Benefit Fund will also receive P5,000 in financial assistance.
The PNP is also providing personal protective equipment (PPE) to police manning quarantine control points (QCPs).
