PNP eyes P200M from voluntary donations for COVID-19 relief

The Philippine National Police (PNP) aims to raise at least P200 million through voluntary donations from its personnel to supplement the government's COVID-19 relief efforts.

The 'Team PNP's Bayanihan Fund Challenge' encourages contributions from the PNP's approximately 200,000 uniformed officers and civilian employees.

PNP Chief Gen. Archie Francisco Gamboa launched the fund campaign as an opportunity to give back to those most affected by the crisis.

As of the report, P69.1 million in cash and pledges have been raised from uniformed personnel and civilian employees.

Gamboa emphasized that the donations are strictly voluntary, with no set amount, and will not involve automatic salary deductions or the use of official PNP appropriations.
