PNP cancels holiday parties for typhoon relief efforts

The Philippine National Police (PNP) will forgo lavish holiday parties this year, opting instead to allocate funds towards aiding victims of recent typhoons.

This decision aligns with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s call for government agencies to show solidarity with those who have suffered losses due to the six typhoons that hit the country recently.

PNP's Directorate for Police Community Relations Director Police Maj. Gen. Roderick Augustus Alba stated that while no official directive has been received, they will recommend against extravagant celebrations.

Alba emphasized that holiday parties are not a priority for the PNP, and the funds can be better utilized for disaster relief efforts.

The PNP plans to redirect resources that would have been used for parties to assist communities devastated by the typhoons.
