PNP reports peaceful Christmas Eve nationwide

The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported no significant untoward incidents across the country during Christmas Eve celebrations, indicating a generally peaceful observance.

PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo confirmed the peaceful nationwide celebration, noting the absence of major incidents.

The traditional nine-day Simbang Gabi also concluded peacefully earlier on Tuesday, according to the PNP.

PNP Chief General Rommel Francisco Marbil commended highway traffic officers for mitigating severe traffic congestion along the Rolando Andaya Highway in Camarines Sur.

He noted that additional personnel from the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) were deployed to manage traffic flow, implementing measures such as the 30-minute interval scheme.

The PNP also secured Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) equipment essential for road rehabilitation efforts.
