DILG commends PNP for incident-free Christmas Eve

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) commended the Philippine National Police (PNP) for ensuring an incident-free Christmas Eve.

DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla attributed the peaceful celebration to the strategic deployment of approximately 40,000 police officers.

Remulla also expressed support for the PNP and the Armed Forces of the Philippines in their decision not to declare a suspension of offensive operations.

He urged the PNP to maintain heightened security measures, citing the Communist Party of the Philippines and the New People's Army's no holiday ceasefire declaration.

The DILG, PNP, and other law enforcement agencies remain committed to vigilance in protecting the public from peace disturbers.

Remulla assured the public of continued efforts towards a peaceful, prosperous, and progressive New Philippines in the coming year.
