PNP deploys new batch of cops for ECQ duty in Metro Manila
Nearly 300 police personnel from the National Headquarters' National Standby Support Force (NSSF) will be deployed to assist the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Regional Mobile Force Battalion in manning quarantine control points across Metro Manila.
A turnover ceremony for the 294 officers was held at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.
The deployed NSSF members are in good physical and mental condition and are ready to support the NCRPO's operations.
This augmentation aims to provide much-needed rest for NCRPO personnel who have been on duty for 48 consecutive days.
NCRPO chief Police Major General Debold Sinas requested the public's cooperation in staying home to ensure these sacrifices are meaningful.
The deployment comes after the government extended the enhanced community quarantine in NCR and other high-risk areas until May 15.
