Philippines logs 328 new Covid-19 recoveries, 1,061 new infections

The Philippines has logged 399,325 recoveries from Covid-19, with 328 new recoveries reported.

The Department of Health (DOH) announced 1,061 new infections, bringing the total active cases to 27,642.

Of the active cases, 85.2 percent were classified as mild, 6.9 percent as asymptomatic, 2.6 percent as severe, 0.28 percent as moderate, and 5 percent in critical condition.

The country's death toll rose to 8,446 as 10 new deaths were logged.

Five duplicates were removed from the total case count, and five recovered cases were removed; additionally, three cases previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths.

Davao City and Quezon City both logged 92 new Covid-19 cases, followed by Rizal with 50, Pampanga with 44, and Quezon with 43 cases.

A December 2 DOH report showed that 4.4 percent of those tested for Covid-19 turned positive.

The DOH has a total bed capacity of 21,300 for patients with Covid-19.
