DOH reports 1,574 new COVID-19 cases

The Department of Health (DOH) announced 80 new recoveries, bringing the total nationwide to 408,702, which is 92.9% of all confirmed cases.

The country also recorded 1,574 new COVID-19 cases, increasing the total active cases to 24,125, representing 6.8% of all infections.

The DOH reported 18 new deaths, raising the total COVID-19 fatalities to 8,572.

Davao City reported the most new cases with 187, followed by Rizal with 96, Pampanga with 80, Quezon City with 69, and Pasig City with 59.

Of the active cases, 84.6% exhibit mild symptoms, 6.4% are asymptomatic, 5.8% are in critical condition, 2.9% are severe, and 0.32% are moderate.

Nine duplicates were removed from the total case count, and five cases previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths.

The DOH has a dedicated bed capacity of 21,300 for COVID-19 patients.
