PH logs 2,178 new COVID-19 cases; death toll reaches 10,136

The Philippines' COVID-19 caseload climbed to 509,887 with the addition of 2,178 new cases on January 22, 2021.

The death toll rose to 10,136 after 20 fatalities were reported, and 250 more patients recovered, bringing the total to 467,720.

Quezon City reported the highest number of new infections with 148 cases, followed by Bulacan with 88, and Cebu with 80.

There are 32,031 active cases, with 83.6% mild, 9.5% asymptomatic, 2.3% severe, and 4.1% critical.

Fifty-nine percent of the country's intensive care unit beds are available while 79 percent of the mechanical ventilators are ready for use.
