PDEA seizes P9.52B illegal drugs in two weeks

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has announced the seizure of P9.52 billion worth of illegal drugs during operations conducted from May 30 to June 13.

The two-week campaign, conducted in collaboration with the Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine National Police, and National Bureau of Investigation, resulted in the arrest of 167 individuals involved in drug pushing and trafficking.

These operations included 102 buy-busts, 15 marijuana eradication drives, seven search and seizure missions, four interdictions, and four substance turnovers.

A significant portion of the confiscated shabu, totaling 1,040 kg, was discovered by fisherfolk floating off the coasts of Pangasinan and Ilocos Sur.

Other seized substances included liquid shabu, various forms of marijuana, cannabis plants and seedlings, ecstasy tablets, and cannabis-infused candy.
