BOC intercepts P34.8M worth of shabu, ecstasy at NAIA, Clark
A Malaysian national was apprehended at NAIA Terminal 3 for attempting to smuggle P29.7 million worth of shabu (4.368 kg) from Kuala Lumpur.
The illegal drugs were discovered in the suspect's luggage through x-ray scanning, K-9 inspection, and physical examination.
The Bureau of Customs (BOC), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group, apprehended the passenger.
Separately, on June 4, the BOC at the Port of Clark foiled an attempt to smuggle P5.1 million worth of ecstasy tablets disguised as animal food from Paris, France.
The suspects in both operations are facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.
