PDEA-BARMM op leaves 1 dead, 2 arrested in Maguindanao del Sur

An anti-drug operation by PDEA-BARMM in Buluan, Maguindanao del Sur on February 21, 2025, resulted in the death of an alleged drug den operator and the arrest of two aides.

The operation in Barangay Upper Siling turned hostile when the drug den owner, alias "Dats", and his two companions, aliases "Memo" and "King", drew firearms and fired at operatives after realizing they had sold PHP102,000 worth of suspected shabu to PDEA-BARMM and PRO-BARMM agents.

During the ensuing firefight, the drug den owner was wounded and later pronounced dead at a hospital.

His accomplices, "Memo" and "King", surrendered when PDEA-BARMM agents and police surrounded their hideout, though another cohort, alias "Rolan", managed to escape.

Authorities confiscated 25 sachets of suspected shabu valued at PHP102,000, along with drug-sniffing paraphernalia, a motorcycle, and a 9 mm machine pistol.

The arrested individuals will face charges for violating Republic Act (RA) 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
