2 nabbed, P8.8M shabu seized in Makati condo bust

Two individuals, identified as "Wewel" and "Madam," both 28 years old, were arrested in a buy-bust operation at a condominium in Barangay San Antonio, Makati City.

The operation yielded approximately P8.8 million worth of shabu, with the drugs reportedly packaged in a vacuum-sealed foil pack labeled "freeze-dried durian" with Chinese characters.

The operation was initiated after an undercover operative successfully purchased P1 million worth of shabu from the suspects.

Police recovered the remaining shabu and other drug paraphernalia upon the suspects' arrest.

Both suspects will face charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act No. 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The Southern Police District (SPD) is finalizing case documents for submission to the Makati City Prosecutor's Office.

SPD district director Brig. Gen. Manuel Abrugena commended the Makati City Police for the successful operation and stressed the importance of sustained efforts against illegal drug activities.

He urged the public to remain vigilant and support law enforcement by reporting suspicious activities, emphasizing that civilian cooperation is key to creating a safer community.
