Zamboanga City drug bust nets 3 suspects, P15.6M shabu

Three high-value targets, identified as factory workers aged 66 and 30, and a driver aged 42, were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Zamboanga City on February 24.

The operation, which occurred around 11:45 a.m. along Vitaliano Agan Avenue in Barangay Camino Nuevo, resulted in the seizure of approximately P15.6 million worth of suspected shabu.

An armed cohort escaped in a pickup truck during the operation, which involved an exchange of gunfire as lawmen pursued the suspect.

The abandoned vehicle was recovered a kilometer away from the operation site, near a school in Barangay Sta. Catalina.

Recovered from the arrested suspects were about two kilos of shabu packed in 47 sachets, a Piaggio vehicle, two mobile phones, and the boodle money.

The operation was a joint effort by PDEA-9 and the Zamboanga City Police Office, launched a week after the suspects agreed to the transaction.
