Over 120,000 travelers at ports day before New Year’s Eve – PCG
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) monitored 126,730 passengers traveling through seaports nationwide on Tuesday, a day before New Year's Eve.
Of these, 65,626 passengers were outbound and 61,104 were inbound from noon to 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
The PCG also inspected 467 vessels and 802 motorbancas nationwide.
All PCG units are on heightened alert from December 20, 2025, to January 4, 2026, to manage the increased passenger volume during the holiday season.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) has also bolstered its presence along major thoroughfares, deploying 56,785 personnel to assist travelers and maintain public safety.
The PNP specifically dispatched 11,129 personnel to motorist assistance hubs to provide aid.
