BI deploys over 950 personnel to manage holiday travel rush

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has deployed over 950 personnel nationwide to manage the expected exodus of travelers for the holiday season.

Around 50,000 daily arrivals and departures are being monitored at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), with increases noted particularly at Terminals 1 and 3.

BI Deputy Spokesperson Melvin Mabulac stated that the current numbers are higher than last year but were anticipated due to the December peak season.

Passenger traffic at NAIA is projected to increase by 5% from December 20, 2025, to January 5, 2026, reaching approximately 2.55 million travelers.

To expedite processing and avoid long queues, 24 biometric immigration e-gates have been activated at NAIA Terminals 1 and 3.
