PBBM urges Cabinet to stay calm amid House issues

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. urged his Cabinet to remain calm amidst frustrations with the House of Representatives, stating he understands why they feel "unjustly beleaguered."

The President made these remarks before departing for a state visit to Cambodia.

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin explained that the Cabinet's strong statement against the House was a unified objection to a plan to revert the 2026 National Expenditure Program to the Executive branch.

Bersamin added that the executive branch is not comfortable with the plan as it puts them in a bad light.

Bersamin had previously accused certain House members of attempting to shift blame for corruption and budget process failures onto the executive branch.

He emphasized that the Cabinet would not tolerate attacks on the executive branch's integrity or efforts to hold the budget process hostage through political theatrics.
