PBBM gets emotional discussing Filipinos' hardships

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. became emotional during a podcast recording while discussing the hardships faced by Filipinos, stating he gets "very, very angry" seeing them suffer.

He questioned the logic of punishing hardworking and loving Filipinos for the enrichment of others, particularly those who "bully" the people's money.

The president's remarks were made during an interview with journalist Vicky Morales for her podcast, released on Sunday, September 7.

His emotional statements about the people's plight were made in the context of the government investigating anomalies in flood control projects, some of which are confirmed as 'ghost' projects.

Marcos Jr. also lambasted how corruption has become entrenched and systemic through the years, noting that it was not this bad when he was governor.

He specifically condemned government contractors publicly flaunting luxury cars, suggesting they are taking what is due to Filipinos.

The Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) also called to "make corruption shameful again" in relation to the flood control projects.
