Marcos Jr. leads awarding of 1,099 housing units to PNR project-displaced families

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" R. Marcos Jr. led the awarding of 1,099 housing units in San Pablo City, Laguna, to families displaced by the Philippine National Railways South Long Haul Project.

The housing units are located at the St. Barts Southville Heights, and are part of the relocation program for the PNR South Long Haul Project-Segment 2-7.

The development, implemented by the National Housing Authority (NHA), is part of the administration's Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino housing program.

The NHA also announced that five more housing projects are lined up in Quezon province to accommodate other families affected by the PNR project.

The PNR South Long Haul, spanning 577 kilometers with 33 stations, will link Metro Manila to Batangas and the Bicol region.

The NHA, a government-owned and -controlled corporation under the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, recently had its corporate life extended by 25 years and its capitalization doubled to P10 billion.
