OVP starts distribution of locally-made PPEs to hospitals
The Office of the Vice President (OVP) has begun distributing locally made and reusable protective suits to COVID-19 frontliners.
Vice President Leni Robredo announced the delivery of the first batch of suits to The Medical City South Luzon in Laguna.
Power Fashion, Inc., an affiliate of retail brands BAYO, Unica Hija, and Viseversa, supplied the initial batch of protective suits.
Fashion designer Mich Dulce and the Manila Protective Gear Sewing Club spearheaded the initiative to create the suits, with designs approved by medical experts.
Robredo expressed gratitude to Power Fashion, Inc. for their donation, noting the initiative also provides work for their seamstresses and employees.
The OVP's fund drive has raised P51.67 million, which will be used to purchase 118,072 PPE sets for health workers.
