The Office of Vice President Leni Robredo has acquired P14 million worth of COVID-19 test kits developed by University of the Philippines scientists to boost the country's testing capabilities.
Approximately 10,000 test kits, comprising both detection and extraction kits, will be distributed to four key hospitals: San Lazaro Hospital, Lung Center of the Philippines, V. Luna Hospital, and Bicol Regional Diagnostic and Reference Laboratory.
These kits were purchased using funds from the OVP's own resources.
This initiative is part of the OVP's ongoing efforts to support and expand COVID-19 testing across the nation.
Previously, the OVP had also provided P5.3 million worth of extraction kits to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM).
