Metro Manila mayors seek reelection as vote counting continues

The 2025 Philippine midterm elections have concluded, with vote counting underway for local races across Metro Manila, where over 7.56 million registered voters participated.

Eleven incumbent mayors in Metro Manila sought reelection in the 16 cities and one municipality within the National Capital Region.

Notable reelectionist mayors include Honey Lacuna (Manila), Joy Belmonte (Quezon City), Vico Sotto (Pasig), Wes Gatchalian (Valenzuela), Jeannie Sandoval (Malabon), John Rey Tiangco (Navotas), and Dale Gonzalo "Along" Malapitan (Caloocan).

Other incumbents vying for another term were Ruffy Biazon (Muntinlupa), Lani Cayetano (Taguig), Francis Zamora (San Juan), and Emi Calixto-Rubiano (Pasay).

Early assessments and exit poll projections suggest that at least six incumbents, including Belmonte, Gatchalian, Biazon, Cayetano, Tiangco, Rubiano, and Zamora, are likely to retain their seats.

The results for the remaining races were too close to call as of the latest update.
