LPA, shear line to bring scattered rains in Visayas, Mindanao

The trough of a low-pressure area (LPA) is expected to bring scattered rains and thunderstorms to Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, and Palawan over the next 24 hours.

A shear line will cause scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms in the Bicol Region, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Northern Samar.

Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will persist throughout the rest of Eastern Visayas due to the easterlies.

The easterlies will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms to the rest of the country.

PAGASA warned that these weather conditions may trigger flash floods and landslides.

The northeast monsoon (amihan) will affect Luzon, but with no significant impact.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters are expected in Luzon.
