Pagasa warns of rainy Friday nationwide due to monsoon, shear line, and easterlies

Pagasa warned of a rainy Friday across the country due to the combined effects of the northeast monsoon, shear line, and easterlies.

The northeast monsoon is expected to bring cloudy skies and rain to Metro Manila, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, and the MIMARIZA region, with potential for flooding and landslides.

Light rains are also anticipated in the Ilocos Region due to the northeast monsoon.

The shear line will cause scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms, with a risk of flash floods, in Western Visayas, parts of the Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Quezon, Laguna, and Batangas.

Isolated rain showers and thunderstorms are also forecast for the rest of the country due to the easterlies, posing a threat of flooding.

Possible flash floods or landslides may occur in some areas as a result of heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.

Strong to gale-force winds with rough to very rough waters may be expected over Northern Luzon and eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon.

The rest of Luzon and Visayas may observe moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough waters, while the rest of the country will be having light to moderate winds with slight to moderate seas.
