House to yield probe if lawmaker implicated

The House of Representatives will yield its probe into an allegedly anomalous project if a lawmaker is implicated.

Bicol Saro party-list Rep. Terry Ridon stated that the House will immediately recuse itself and refer the investigation to an independent third-party or executive-led probe to prevent conflicts of interest or cover-ups.

Ridon clarified that the tri-committee hearings will not be suspended entirely but will only recuse themselves from a specific inquiry if a legislator's name comes up.

For instance, if a whistleblower alleges a congressman received kickbacks from a particular project, the House will ask the congressman for an explanation before recusing and endorsing the matter to an external probe.
