Habagat to bring rains to Metro Manila, Southern Luzon, Western Visayas

The southwest monsoon, or habagat, is expected to bring cloudy skies and scattered rain showers with thunderstorms to Metro Manila, Southern Luzon, and parts of Western Visayas over the next 24 hours.

Specifically, Metro Manila, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan, Cavite, Batangas, and Antique may experience scattered monsoon rains and thunderstorms.

PAGASA warns of potential flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains in these affected areas.

The Bicol Region, Laguna, Rizal, Quezon, and the rest of the Visayas may have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Similar conditions are expected in the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA has not monitored any low pressure areas or tropical cyclones within the country's area of responsibility as of Tuesday, but chances of rain showers due to localized thunderstorms remain high.

The public is warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
