3 LPAs enhance monsoon, bring rains to PH

Three low pressure areas (LPAs) are currently enhancing the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, resulting in rains across several parts of the Philippines.

One LPA is located 615 km east northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, but it is not expected to have a significant effect.

A tropical depression is being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), located 2,005 kilometers east northeast of extreme Northern Luzon with 55 kph winds and gustiness of up to 70 kph.

This tropical depression has a low chance of entering PAR as it is forecast to move towards Japan and is not enhancing the Southwest Monsoon.

Central and Southern Luzon, and the Visayas are experiencing cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the enhanced Habagat.

Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan may experience flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila, Visayas, Calabarzon, Bicol Region, and the rest of Mimaropa could face flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
