Globe restores services in Iloilo

As of Tuesday, Globe Telecom announced the full restoration of its network services in Iloilo province, including 4G LTE.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) reported that Globe has achieved an overall mobile service restoration of 73% in areas hit by Typhoon Odette, with 95% of its cell sites operational in Palawan, 60% in the Visayas, and 64% in Mindanao.

Smart Communications, Inc. also reported an overall restoration of 71%, with 76% of its cell sites operational in Palawan, 78% in the Visayas, and 60% in Mindanao.

DITO Telecommunity Corp. reached over 75% restoration in Mindanao and more than 70% in Leyte, with an overall restoration above 55%.

Globe is extending bill rebates and payment due dates for affected Globe At Home and Globe Platinum and Postpaid mobile customers until January 2, and will not disconnect services for non-payment during this period.

The company attributed the accelerated restoration efforts to the cooperation of local government units in provinces affected by Typhoon Odette.

Challenges such as downed power lines are reportedly hindering restoration in some areas.
