Tarlac court issues arrest warrant vs Alice Guo for graft

A Tarlac court has issued a warrant of arrest against dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo for graft charges.

The Capas, Tarlac Regional Trial Court Branch 109 set bail at P90,000 for each of the two counts of violating Sections 3(E) and 3(H) of Republic Act 3019 or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, totaling P180,000, but Guo did not post bail.

The arrest order stemmed from a complaint by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) against Guo for allegedly using her position to issue a permit to an illegal POGO in Bamban.

Guo was escorted by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) from the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center in Camp Crame, Quezon City on Friday morning, Sept. 6.

She was brought to the Capas, Tarlac Regional Trial Court Branch 109 as a matter of procedure to show she had been arrested.

Guo's lawyer stated she was not inclined to post bail, citing pending motions and other existing warrants from the Senate.
