Duterte cancels Holy Week trip to stay in Manila amid pandemic

President Duterte has decided to cancel his planned trip to Davao City for Holy Week and will remain in Manila instead.

The President's decision to stay in the capital is to allow him to continue overseeing the government's efforts against the coronavirus pandemic.

Presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo stated that Duterte will remain at Bahay Pagbabago and will continue to monitor the situation and provide directives to government agencies.

Panelo also mentioned that Duterte's presence in Manila would enable him to respond more promptly to urgent national concerns.

Despite difficulties sleeping due to the country's problems, the President is reported to be fit and healthy, with the Presidential Security Group ensuring his safety.

The President is urging the public to stay home during Holy Week and offer prayers for guidance and strength to overcome the public health emergency.
