The Department of Health (DOH) has observed a slight decline in the average daily reported cases of COVID-19 in the country.
Last week, the seven-day moving average was 10,858 cases, which dropped to 9,556 this week, a decrease of 1,300 cases.
The transmission rate or R-naught of the virus has also been decreasing.
DOH Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire attributed this reduction to the two-week enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the NCR-plus bubble and localized lockdowns.
Despite the improvement, Vergeire urged the public not to let their guard down and to continue strictly observing minimum public health standards.
