Dagupan City nurse recovers from COVID-19

A 29-year-old nurse from Dagupan City, a medical frontliner, has recovered from COVID-19 and was discharged from the Region 1 Medical Center (R1MC).

She is the fifth medical front-liner in the city to recover from the virus.

The nurse contracted the virus through exposure at the R1MC where she works and had been self-quarantining since March 28.

She was admitted to R1MC on April 15 after her swab test on April 12 returned positive.

Dagupan City has recorded a total of 11 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with five medical front-liners and a 23-year-old woman having already recovered.

Three additional medical workers and a 37-year-old woman remain confined at R1MC since April 24.

Mayor Marc Brian Lim urged residents not to become complacent and to continue following quarantine rules, noting that Dagupan City has recorded no additional cases in the last two weeks.
