DOH logs 330 new COVID-19 cases, 27 deaths

The Department of Health (DOH) announced 330 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, bringing the total to 10,343, with 112 new recoveries and 27 new deaths.

Out of the new cases, 205 were recorded in Region 7 (Central Visayas), 110 in the National Capital Region, and 24 in other regions.

A total of 1,886 healthcare workers have been infected with COVID-19.

Of these healthcare worker cases, 1,449 are active, 403 have recovered, and the death toll among them remains at 34.

The number of infected healthcare workers began to decline on April 11.

The DOH is encouraging healthcare workers who lost their jobs due to financial losses in medical facilities to apply for the department's emergency hiring program.

The DOH has received requests for additional healthcare workers from 50 medical facilities and has hired 709 applicants for 2,258 available slots.

The public is reminded to frequently wash hands, avoid touching their faces, maintain a one-meter distance from others, wear masks when outside, and regularly clean surfaces.
